About XML Feed Errors in Box+Dice
Box+Dice clients who load listings from a third‑party CRM (such as Eagle, Vault, or REX) may occasionally encounter errors when sending data to the Enterprise Importer.
When an error occurs, Box+Dice sends an automated email titled “XML feed contains errors at Box+Dice”. This email explains why the file could not be processed and what needs to be corrected.
The email will look something like this:
Understand the error
You need to break down the email error received to understand what the error is all about.
Example error message:
"We couldn't find a staff member using provided attributes. Please, create a new staff member in your office. Ensure that all of the information matches exactly to what is in the other CRM."
This message means:
- Box+Dice could not find a matching staff member using the details supplied in the XML.
- The staff member must exist in Box+Dice before the listing can be created.
- The following fields must match exactly:
- First name
- Last name
- Email address
- Phone number
Fix staff matching errors
To resolve this error, you must ensure the staff record in Box+Dice matches the XML values 100%.
To fix the issue:
- Go to: More > Staff
- Create a new staff member or edit an existing one
- Enter the staff details so they exactly match what is being sent in the XML:
- First name
- Last name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Click Save to save the staff record
- Re‑send the XML feed from the third‑party CRM
Once the staff member matches correctly, the listing can be created with the assigned listing consultant.
Supported enterprise importer feed types
The Enterprise Importer accepts feeds from SFTP and FTP clients.
Supported connection types:
SFTP (recommended)
- Port: 22
- Username and password (password limit: 20 characters)
- SSH private key is supported
- Public key is shared securely with the third‑party provider via BitWarden
FTP (non‑secure)
- Port: 21
- Username and password (password limit: 20 characters)
- Encryption: FTP/TLS
- IP address to whitelist: 13.54.235.25
ZIP files with XML Feeds
The Enterprise Importer can process ZIP files that include:
- A valid
.xmlfile, and - The original listing images
How ZIP uploads work:
- The importer validates the XML file first
- If all required details are valid (including staff matching), the files are processed
- The listing is created in Box+Dice and associated images are uploaded
If the XML contains errors, the entire ZIP file is rejected.
Understand processing time
After a successful upload:
- Changes can appear in Box+Dice within seconds
- During peak load, processing may take a few minutes
If the listing does not appear after upload, verify whether a feed error email was sent.
If no error email is received
If a listing is missing and no error email has been received:
Check the following:
- Review Junk or Spam folders
- Confirm the email address receiving feed notifications
- Contact Box+Dice Support (CS.BoxDice@mrisoftware.com) if:
- No email is found, and
- The listing does not appear in the CRM or on the website
