About syncing Box+Dice with iOS
Syncing Box+Dice with an iOS device allows appointments and selected contacts from Box+Dice to appear directly in the native Contacts and Calendar apps on an iPhone or iPad.
This setup uses standard CardDAV (for contacts) and CalDAV (for appointments) connections. It provides one‑way synchronisation from Box+Dice to the device, giving users mobile access without changing data back in Box+Dice.
This feature is commonly used by agents who need quick access to client phone numbers, addresses, and appointment schedules while working away from their desk.
Before you begin
Before setting up syncing, make sure you have the following details ready:
- Your Box+Dice URL (for example: yourcompany.boxdice.com.au)
- Your Box+Dice username or login email address
- Your CardDAV password, available in your staff profile:
- Go to: Staff profile
- Select Edit
- Open the Login tab
Things to be aware of:
- Synchronisation frequency depends on the Fetch setting on the iOS device
- Only contacts added to the Mobile category will sync to the device
- Sync time depends on the number of selected contacts
- Access to contact syncing can be restricted using the Apply Mobile Contact Category ACL
- Synchronisation is one‑way only (from Box+Dice to the device)
Set up contact syncing on iPhone or iPad
To sync contacts using CardDAV on your iPhone and/or iPad:
- Open Settings
- Tap Mail
- Tap Accounts
- Tap Add Account
- Select Other
- Under Contacts, tap Add CardDAV Account
- Enter the following details:
- Server: your Box+Dice URL
- Username: your login email
- Password: your CardDAV password
- Description: Box+Dice (optional)
- Tap Next
The system will verify the details and connect your contacts.
Set up appointment syncing on iPhone or iPad
To sync appointments using CalDAV:
- Open Settings
- Tap Calendar
- Tap Accounts
- Tap Add Account
- Select Other
- Under Calendars, tap Add CalDAV Account
- Enter the following details:
- Server: your Box+Dice URL
- Username: your login email
- Password: your CardDAV password
- Description: Box+Dice (optional)
- Tap Next
The system will verify the details and connect your calendar.
