About general accounts

Box+Dice allows you to configure one or more trust accounts and one or more general accounts.

Trust accounts are used to manage trust funds through individual ledgers, while general accounts are used when business funds are received or transferred from trust.

You can configure multiple general accounts and make them available to specific offices as required.


Set up a general account

To set up a general account:

  • Go to: Settings > Accounting > Accounts
  • Click + Add New in the top-right corner of the screen
  • Complete the account details

 

When creating a general account, complete the following fields:

  • Type - Select General
  • Account Name - Enter the account name as shown on your bank statement
  • BSB & Account Number - Enter the BSB and account number from your bank statement
  • Bank & Code - Enter the full bank name, such as Commonwealth Bank, and the associated bank code, such as CBA
  • Branch - Enter the bank branch where the account is held
  • Office/s - Select the offices that should have access to the account

You can also choose whether the account should be the default account when creating trust transactions for each office.

  • Primary Office - Select the primary office responsible for maintaining records, reconciliations, and end-of-month processes
  • Click Save
