Manage Outlook Calendar Sync via Microsoft Graph

MRI Box and Dice MRI Box and Dice

Summary

Learn how to reauthorise your Outlook calendar sync using Microsoft Graph in Box and Dice.

This article covers:

About Calendar sync

Microsoft deprecated the Outlook REST API v2.0, which was previously used to sync Box and Dice calendars with Outlook. To ensure continued functionality and security, Microsoft introduced Microsoft Graph as the new standard for integrations across Microsoft 365 services.

With this, Box and Dice has upgraded to use Microsoft Graph for calendar syncing, providing improved security, modern features, and ongoing support. To keep your calendar connection active, you may need to reauthorise your account.

Reauthorise Calendar sync

If your Microsoft Office 365 account is synced to Box and Dice, you may need to reauthorise your calendar sync. This process ensures your calendar continues to sync correctly.

Note: This doesn't affect users who have used Google for their calendar sync.

Your Box and Dice users should now have the permission to re-authorise the syncing of their Outlook calendar with Box and Dice.

Troubleshoot consent loop

If users are repeatedly prompted even after admin consent:

  • Ensure admin consent is granted for all sensitive permission scopes required to get rid of the prompt

Required Scopes:

  • https://graph.microsoft.com/Mail.Read
  • https://graph.microsoft.com/Mail.Send
  • https://graph.microsoft.com/Mail.ReadWrite

Missing any of these scopes can cause the reauthorisation prompt to recur.
