About the error
When uploading a property to Domain, a listing with the property type Retirement may return the following error:
"Residential Property Types "retirement" requires at least one more property type to be specified with it."
This validation is enforced by Domain and occurs because the Retirement property type cannot be used on its own.
Understand Domain property type requirements
According to Domain's specifications, Retirement must be combined with another supported residential property type.
Supported residential property types include:
- AcreageSemiRural
- ApartmentUnitFlat
- BlockOfUnits
- CarSpace
- DevelopmentSite
- Duplex
- Farm
- House
- Penthouse
- Rural
- SemiDetached
- SpecialistFarm
- Studio
- Terrace
- Townhouse
- VacantLand
- Villa
- Retirement
Based on existing retirement listings published on Domain, properties that include wording such as "Over 55s" or "Retirement" within the property description may automatically receive a Retirement Living classification on the Domain website.
This classification is applied by Domain and is separate from the primary property type selected for the listing.
Resolve the error
To avoid this validation error, continue using the property's actual residential property type, such as:
- House
- Unit
- Villa
- Townhouse
- Apartment
If the property is intended for retirement living, include appropriate wording such as Retirement or Over 55s within the property description.
