About Email Designer

Email Designer allows you to build templates, customise layouts using drag‑and‑drop content blocks, and send emails with full reporting.
Your access to Email Designer is controlled through ACL permissions. When enabled, Email Designer appears in the left‑hand menu.

Email vs Email Templates

It is important to understand the difference between an email and a template before you start designing.

Templates

Templates act as reusable design foundations. They allow you to define and manage:

  • Layout structure
  • Fonts and styling
  • Color sets
  • Content blocks and placeholders

They exist to ensure you have design consistency and can be reused across many emails.

Emails

Emails are created from templates and are used to send communications.

Emails:

  • Inherit the structure of the chosen template
  • Can be customised before sending
  • Retain delivery and engagement reporting
Tip: Create and maintain templates first, then reuse them to produce consistent emails quickly.

Create an email template

Templates are created using themes and content blocks. Template editing permissions are controlled by ACLs, so some users may only create emails and not templates.

Note: You need the correct ACL permissions to access the Email Designer in the navigation menu.

To create an email template:

  • Go to: Email Designer
  • Click + Create Email
  • Select your preferred Email Theme
  • Click Continue with blank template

You will see default content blocks based on the selected theme. Blocks appear in the left‑hand panel and include:

  • Text (Headers, columns)
  • Images (single/multi‑image)
  • Image + text combinations
  • Elements (divider, spacer, buttons, unsubscribe)
  • Media (video, social icons)
  • Property blocks (featured listings, property text, grid)
  • Inspections (table)
  • Consultant (signature)

To remove default blocks:

  • Click the block and the trash can icon to remove default blocks if you prefer to start from scratch
  • Drag blocks into the template’s body to start customising
  • Continue adding and arranging blocks as needed

Configure blocks settings

When editing templates or emails, each block includes its own toolbar and configuration options.

Block Toolbar

When you click on any block in the email body, a toolbar appears at the top.

Toolbar icons include:

  • Move - Drag to reposition the block
  • Clone - Copy the block
  • Delete - Remove the block
  • Settings - Configure block‑specific options

This toolbar applies to all block types, including text, images, dividers, and layout blocks.

Block Settings

The Settings icon in the toolbar opens a configuration panel where you can adjust properties specific to the selected block.

To configure block settings:

  • Click the Settings icon in the block

You can configure the following:

  • Text Block Settings - You can adjust padding and vertical spacing, and change the text or background color to improve readability and layout clarity
  • Divider Block Settings - You can modify the divider’s width, height, and color, and adjust padding or vertical spacing to control how strongly the divider separates sections
  • Images Block Settings - You can choose the column layout, adjust padding and spacing, set the gap between images, and apply a background color for visual balance
  • Button Block Settings - You can set the button link, choose an alignment, update text and button colors, and adjust padding or corner rounding. You can also change block spacing and background color to highlight your call‑to‑action
  • Social Block Settings - You can add social media links, choose alignment, and adjust padding, spacing, or background color to control how the icons appear in your design
  • Property Featured Block Settings - You can decide which property fields to show, set the property link, choose how many images appear, and adjust additional column or button options depending on the layout
  • Inspections Table Settings - You can control heading visibility, alignment, and grouping options for inspection times, and adjust colors and spacing to make the schedule easy to read
  • Signature Block Settings - You can select which consultant signature appears and adjust text color, spacing, and background color to match the rest of your email design

Property blocks and image selection

When you create an email using a template that contains property‑based content blocks, such as a Feature Property block or a Property Grid block. You can choose exactly which properties/appraisals/listings or sales you want to display in the email.

This allows you to reuse the same template for different campaigns while personalising the content every time.

Add a featured property

  • Drag the Property Featured block in the email editor or the Property Prop text block
  • Click the Green House icon

A panel appears, allowing you to search or browse properties.

  • Search and select the property you want to feature. For example, a recently sold listing

The block updates automatically and pulls in:

  • Property images

  • Attributes (beds, baths, cars)

  • Listing or sale price

  • Other property details

Tip: Always use the Green House icon for Featured Property or Property Grid blocks to ensure content stays accurate and synced with your stored records.

Add featured properties

  • Drag the Property Grid block in the email editor

You will see four selection slots, one for each property tile in the grid.

  • Click the Green House icon
  • Search for or browse properties to fill each slot. For example, you may choose four current listings to promote your active stock
  • Click Continue

Each selected listing photo and details are instantly previewed in the grid.

You can mix property types (current listings, leased, sold, off‑market) as long as your permission level allows access.

Upload or select images

Aside from using property photos, you can also select and upload new images stored outside of Box+Dice.

To upload an image to include in the blocks:

  • Click the Image picker
  • Click Upload image
  • Drag and drop the file or click upload file to open the file picker
  • Enter the File name
  • Click Upload

The image will be uploaded to the image gallery.

  • Select the image, and the block updates automatically with that property’s photo

Send an Email

Once your template is ready, you can create and send an email:

  • Click Preview Email to check how it will appear
  • Enter Email Subject
  • Select the contacts you want to send the template to
  • Click Send email to # recipient
  • Click Send to confirm

Your email will be queued and sent shortly after.

Note: If the recipient is using Outlook Classic, your email template may appear differently. Suggest that they open it in New Outlook for the correct formatting.
