About Multifactor Authentication (MFA)

Multifactor Authentication (MFA) is a security process that requires users to verify their identity with two or more pieces of evidence. When MFA is enabled in Box + Dice, users must enter a one-time code generated by an authenticator app (or other supported methods) on a secondary device after entering their username and password. This adds an extra layer of security, reducing the chances of unauthorized access.Shape

How it works

When MFA is enabled in Box + Dice, after logging in with your username and password, you will be prompted to enter a second factor of authentication. This could be a one-time code sent via an authenticator app, a physical security key, or another method. The system verifies the second factor, allowing you to proceed with access.

Supported MFA Methods in Box + Dice

Box + Dice supports various MFA methods tailored to different security needs:

  • Mobile App Authenticators
  • Physical Devices
    • Security Key - A physical USB device used for authentication
  • Biometric Methods
    • Biometric Authenticator - Uses unique biological traits (e.g., fingerprint) for authentication

At least one factor must be configured; however, it is strongly advised to set up multiple options. This not only makes your account even more secure but also gives you alternatives should you encounter issues with your primary method.

Additionally, SMS, voice calls, email authentication, security questions, and Duo Security may be enabled depending on your organization's settings.

Once enrolled, your chosen factors will appear with a green tick under ‘Enrolled Factors’ in your account settings.

  • Click Setup for each additional option if desired, and follow the process
  • Once complete, scroll down to the bottom of the page, Click Finish

The Okta Verify setup is now complete. You will see a Box+Dice tile in Okta, which you can click to automatically log into your Box+Dice.

Note: If you already have Okta set up with another CRM before enabling it with Box and Dice, the password you use for Okta for the other CRM is the same password for Box and Dice.
