Summary

Understand how the Group option in accounting streamlines payments by consolidating them into a single transaction for easier bank statement management.

This article covers:

How it works

The Group option in Box+Dice Accounting allows you to combine multiple transactions into a single payment entry. This grouped transaction appears as one line in your ABA file and on your bank statement, simplifying reconciliation.

When you enable the Group option:

  • Multiple payments are merged into one transaction in the ABA file
  • The same grouped transaction appears as a single entry on your bank statement
  • In Box+Dice, this entry displays as a ‘multiple’ item in the Reconciliation Area, allowing you to reconcile all related transactions with a single click
Tip: Grouping is particularly useful if you manage a large database with many transactions—it reduces hundreds of individual entries into one, saving time and improving clarity.

Group transactions

To group transactions into a single ABA:

  • Go to: Accounting > Trust
  • Click the Payments tab
  • Select the transactions you want to group
  • Click Group
  • Enter a Group Name in the new modal
  • Click Group

You can now generate the ABA file, and the system will automatically group the transactions into a single ABA entry.

Once grouped:

  • The transaction appears in the Reconciliation Area as a multiple-item
  • You can reconcile all included payments with a single click
