Learn how to create a new ledger in Box & Dice to record and manage transactions efficiently.
This article covers:
How it works
Adding a ledger is essential to record transactions associated with a property. You can create a new ledger via the listing or the accounting section, depending on the use case.
Tip: We recommend enabling Auto Ledger Creation in Settings > Accounting > Accounts, so you only need to create ledgers manually in exceptional cases.
Create a ledger via a listing
To create a new ledger via a listing:
- Go to: Properties
- Select the listing
- Click on Accounting > Trust
- Click Add Ledger
The ledger details will appear.
- If a ledger has not yet been created for the listing, Enter the ledger name
- Click Save
Create a ledger via the Accounting menu
To create a new ledger via Accounting menu:
- Go to: Accounting > Trust > Ledgers
- Select + New Ledger from the top right corner of the screen
- Enter the Ledger Name
- Select the Ledger Type
- Search for the Property and select it to link the ledger to that property
- Search for the Vendor(s) and select them from the results to link the ledger to the contacts
