When creating a property for portal upload, listings must follow REA (realestate.com.au) and Domain classification standards. These categories define how properties are displayed and searched on external portals.

Selecting the correct category ensures your listing appears in the appropriate search results and aligns with portal requirements for residential, commercial, and rural properties.


Residential categories

Residential listings must be assigned one of the following property types:

  • House
  • Unit
  • Townhouse
  • Villa
  • Apartment
  • Flat
  • Studio
  • Warehouse
  • Duplex Semi-detached
  • Alpine
  • Acreage Semi-rural
  • Block of Units (only available for Residential Home sale listings)
  • Terrace
  • Retirement
  • Serviced Apartment
  • Other

Residential Land

  • Cropping
  • Dairy
  • Farmlet
  • Horticulture
  • Lifestyle
  • Livestock
  • Viticulture
  • MixedFarming
  • Other (Any type of rural property that does not fit into the above categories.)

Commercial categories

Commercial listings must be assigned one of the following property types:

  • Commercial Farming
  • Land/Development
  • Hotel/Leisure
  • Industrial/Warehouse
  • Medical/Consulting
  • Offices
  • Retail
  • Showrooms/Bulky Goods
  • Other
