Overview

Box + Dice allows you to import bank statements in various formats to simplify the reconciliation process. You can drag and drop your file or use the import button to upload transactions directly into the reconciliation screen. Supported file types include OFX, QFX, QIF, and SWIFT.

Note: You may need to contact your bank to confirm which file type is available and how to download it.

Import a bank statement

To import a bank statement:

  • Go to: Accounting > Trust > Reconciliation

In the Unmatched Bank Transactions section:

  • Click Import Bank Statement, or drag and drop the file onto the screen
  • Tick the options you want to apply:
    • Automatically match imported transactions with unpresented payments and receipts (by reference, date, or amount)
    • Check that the imported statement matches the company’s bank account number and BSB (where possible)
  • Select the File

  • Click Import

Manage imported transactions

Once your bank statement is imported, you can manage and match transactions:

  • Run Auto-Match – Automatically matches imported transactions with unpresented payments and receipts that share the same reference, date, or amount
  • Match & Present – Manually matches an individual bank transaction to the correct payment or receipt, then marks it as presented
Tip: If two transactions have the same amount and date, use Match & Present manually to avoid mismatches.
  • +Receipt / +Payment – Creates a new receipt or payment if an EFT transaction hasn’t yet been recorded in Box+Dice

Receipts are automatically created if the depositor includes your external ledger reference as the lodgement reference.

  •  Delete – Removes an unmatched bank transaction from the list if it’s not required for reconciliation
  • Mark as Presented – Once all transactions have been matched, select them and click this option to confirm they’ve been presented in the reconciliation

After reviewing and marking all transactions:
