About merging properties
Merging properties allows you to combine duplicate property records into a single record within the system.
Duplicates can occur when importing data or when existing records are not identified during property creation.
This feature helps maintain a clean database by consolidating records, ensuring all related information is stored under one property.
Understand risks and requirements
Merging properties permanently modifies or deletes data and should be used with caution.
- Only merge properties that represent the same address
- Merging unrelated properties is not recommended
- The process is permanent and cannot be undone
- Properties linked to trust transactions may have compliance implications

Understand how data is merged

- If a field cannot be appended and values are different, the primary property value is retained
- If a field can be appended, data from duplicate properties is added to the primary property
Appendable data includes:
- Residents
- Owners
- Past owners
- Appraisal listings
- Sales listings
- Trust ledgers
- Rental appraisal listings
- Rental listings
- Territories
- Property views
- Building materials
