Learn how to enable and use the Before You Bid (BYB) integration, so your inspection attendees receive a personalised survey link via SMS, and BYB responses automatically flow back into your Sales Listing.

This article covers:

About the Before You Bid integration

The Before You Bid (BYB) integration connects your inspections with the BYB Assist survey platform. Each attendee receives a unique link after attending an inspection, allowing them to complete a short survey. This integration automates follow‑up communication, captures attendee interest in contracts or appraisals, and ensures key information is added directly to the relevant Sales Listing in Box+Dice.

Once enabled and activated by Before You Bid:

  • Each inspection attendee will receive an automated SMS containing a unique BYB survey link
  • The link opens the BYB Assist web survey, where attendees can request a contract or a market appraisal
  • BYB sends a note back into Box+Dice that is attached to the Sales Listing, marked as Important so your team can follow up promptly
  • You may unmark the Important flag after completing the requested action

This ensures your team receives actionable follow‑up items without manual handling.

Configure the automated SMS

Set up the SMS that will be sent to attendees after each inspection.

To configure the automated SMS:

  • Go to: Settings > Automations > Check-in SMS
  • Select the relevant office
  • Open the automated SMS message used for inspection follow‑up
  • Insert the BYB URL merge field into your message template

  • Click Save
Important: The merge field must be included for the unique BYB link to appear in each attendee’s SMS.

View attendee survey responses

After an attendee completes the BYB Assist survey:

  • Go to: Sales > Listings
  • Open the related Sales Listing
  • Scroll to the activity feed or notes section
  • Look for a note marked Important indicating a:
    • Contract request, or
    • Market appraisal request

  • Review and action the request, then unmark the note as Important if no longer needed
Tip: These responses help your team prioritise genuine interest and follow up quickly.
