About the Notification Centre

The Notification Centre brings all important updates into a single panel inside Box+Dice. Instead of relying on email alerts, you can now view reminders, system messages, and mentions directly in Box+Dice.

Types of Notifications

  • Direct Notifications - These are automated alerts triggered by system events
    • Blast campaign ready for Approval
    • Bulk Letters generated
    • CSV/Word Export ready
    • Office SMS credit low
    • Portal upload failure
    • Report subscription
    • Unique category reassigned due to contact merge or the bulk add/remove of categories
  • Task and Appointment Reminder Notifications - Email reminders are now paired with in-app notifications inside the Notification Centre, so you can see today's workload directly in Box+Dice
  • Mention Notifications - When someone tags you using @yourname inside a contact note, you will receive an in-app notification. Selecting the notification takes you directly to the note
  • Alerts Notifications - Notifications generated by auto alerts (automation rules) when a defined trigger is reached. Alerts appear in the Notification Centre and may also be delivered by email or SMS, depending on how the alert is configured

Notification Retention

Notifications are retained for up to 6 months.

Important: The Retention period for notifications may be adjusted in future based on usage. Events that trigger notifications may be retained longer via System Logs (aka Record Logs).

View notifications

The notifications icon is located at the top of the Box+Dice main left hand navigation sidebar, and the icon's count will show you the number of new notifications that have occurred since you last opened the Notifications Centre, ie. those you have not seen yet.

To view your notifications:

  • Click the Notification bell icon
  • Select a primary filter:
    • All (default) - shows both read and unread notifications
    • Unread - shows only notifications you haven’t opened
  • Select the tabs to narrow results: All, Direct, Reminders, Mentions or Alerts
  • Select a notification to open the linked record

The notification is automatically marked Read once opened. If there’s nothing to show, you’ll see 'No notifications to display'.

Manage notification preferences

You can control how you receive specific notification types. By default, notifications may appear both in‑app and via email. You can change this behaviour so certain notifications appear only in the Notification Centre.

To update your notification preferences:

  • Open the Notification Centre
  • Click the Settings icon
  • For each notification type, select how your notification preference is delivered:
    • Email + In‑app
    • In‑App only
    • Muted
  • Select Save

Changes apply only to your user account.

Note: Notification preferences are set per user. You cannot apply notification settings globally for all users.

About muted notifications

Muted notifications are still recorded in your notification history but:

  • They are automatically marked as Read
  • They do not increase unread counts
  • They do not trigger alerts or badges

This is useful for notifications you want recorded without interrupting your workflow.
