About Ask AI in contact search
Ask AI is a natural language search tool available on the contact search screen. It allows you to describe the contacts you want to find in plain English, and Box+Dice converts that request into the relevant contact filters before running the search.
Ask AI does not search your database by guessing who you mean. Instead, it looks at the available Box+Dice filter options and attempts to translate your request into a valid set of contact filters.
This helps you take advantage of the Contact Search screen’s powerful filtering options without having to manually build the filter set.
Search for contacts
You can start using Ask AI directly from the Contact Search screen. The Ask AI button appears in the filters area and opens a text box above the results table so you can enter your search request.
To search using Ask AI:
- Go to: Contacts
- In the filters area, click Ask AI
- A new Ask AI section will appear above the results table
Once Ask AI is open, you can type your request in everyday language. Box+Dice sends that request to OpenAI, which attempts to convert it into contact-search filters for the system.
- In the text box, type the contacts you want to find in plain English
- Click Ask! to run the request
- Box+Dice converts your request into contact filters and runs the search results using that generated filter set
Example requests include:
- My contacts who I have not talked to in the last 30 days
- Buyers looking for a 3-bedroom house under $800k in Bundoora
After you submit a request, the Ask AI result is applied as a standard contact search filter. This means you can review the filters that were created and refine them if needed.
To review the generated filters:
- Run your Ask AI request from contact search
- Check the filter panel on the left side of the screen
- Review the filters Ask AI created
- Adjust the filters manually if you want to narrow or broaden the results
Give feedback on Ask AI results
Ask AI includes a feedback option so the Box+Dice product team can review cases where the returned filters were inaccurate or misleading. This feedback is monitored so the team can refine and improve the prompts behind the feature over time.
To give feedback on Ask AI results:
- Run your Ask AI request
- If the result is incorrect or misleading, click the thumbs down feedback icon
- You can also submit a support ticket if the result is particularly poor or needs further review
