About Active Buyers
Active Buyers is a system-generated feature that automatically identifies contacts demonstrating genuine buyer intent through their activity within Box+Dice.
Finding the right buyers is critical to winning listings and selling properties. Active Buyers helps agents easily identify, understand, and engage with contacts who are actively searching for their next property.
When a contact performs qualifying buyer actions, Box+Dice automatically creates an Active Buyer matching profile based on the attributes of the properties they have interacted with.
How Active Buyers work
Active Buyer matching is automatically generated when a contact performs specific buyer-related actions, including:
- Being added as a buyer lead on a listing
- Attending an inspection
- Requesting a contract
- Making an offer
The system analyses listing information associated with these activities and automatically builds matching criteria using factors such as:
- Suburbs
- Price ranges
- Bedrooms
- Bathrooms
- Parking
All qualifying buyer activity is combined into a single Active Buyer profile. As contacts interact with additional properties, their automatically generated matching criteria are updated to reflect their demonstrated interests.
By default, buyer activity remains relevant for 90 days. If no further qualifying activity occurs within that period, the contact will no longer be considered an Active Buyer.
Identify Active Buyers
Active Buyer status is displayed on the contact record within the right-hand panel, making it easy to identify contacts currently showing buyer activity.
The Active Buyer section includes automatically generated matching information based on the contact's recent activity and buyer behaviour.
Use Active Buyers
Active Buyers extends the existing matching experience across Box+Dice and helps agents identify contacts already in their database who are actively looking for similar properties.
Within the Matching Contacts modal on a Property, Appraisal, or Listing, you can view:
- Contacts matched through Active Buyer matching
- Contacts matched through manually created matching criteria
- A combined view of both matching sources
Matched Buyer reports display redacted buyer names along with their recorded buyer activities, providing evidence of market demand that can be used during appraisal presentations.
Active Buyer matching is also available in areas such as:
- Lead Flow call sheets
- Matched Buyers reporting
- Property and listing matching workflows
Configure Active Buyer settings
You can configure how long buyer activity remains relevant for Active Buyer matching.
To configure the number of days a contact remains an Active Buyer:
- Go to: Settings > General > Active Buyer Matching
- Configure the Number of days and Price matching variance
- Click Save
This setting helps agencies align Active Buyer identification with their preferred definition of an active prospect.
Disable Active Buyer matching
If a contact should not be included in automatically generated Active Buyer matching, you can disable automated matching criteria for that contact.
To disable active buyer matching:
- Go to: Contacts
- Select the relevant contact
- Click Edit
- Untick Automated Matching Criteria
- Click Save
When automated matching criteria is turned off:
- The Active Buyer section is removed from the contact record
- The contact is excluded from system-generated Active Buyer matching
- The contact is excluded from Active Buyer statistics and reporting
