About criteria clean-up

Matching criteria do not expire automatically, which means your database can accumulate old criteria that no longer reflect what contacts are actively looking for. Over time, this can inflate matched buyer numbers and buyer matching results.

The Criteria Clean-up helps you maintain a healthier database by allowing you to search matching criteria records directly, review the results, and remove outdated criteria in bulk.

Results can include both manually created matching criteria and system-generated Active Buyer criteria, giving you greater visibility of the criteria being used in buyer matching. This helps keep buyer matching cleaner and more reliable, especially when you're preparing to promote a listing before it reaches the portals.

Manage matching criteria

The Criteria Clean-up screen is a dedicated search screen that returns matching criteria records stored in the system.

To find and review the criteria records:

  • Go to; More > Criteria Clean-up
  • Filter criteria using the available search filters
  • (Optional) Refine results using the Last modified date filter to identify older criteria
  • Click the Pencil icon to edit and update a matching criteria record

To delete criteria records:

  • Select one or more criteria records
  • Click Delete
  • Confirm the deletion
Note: To delete criteria records in bulk, you must have the Bulk delete criteria permission enabled under Settings > General > Access > Criteria Clean-up > Bulk delete criteria.
