Summary
Understand how E-Alert triggers determine which property updates and reminders your contacts receive automatically based on their matching criteria.
This article covers:
E-Alert triggers
E-Alert triggers determine which types of listings or reminders are included in the automated emails sent to your contacts.
When setting up E-Alerts in a contact’s matching criteria, you can enable one or multiple triggers depending on what information your client wants to receive.
Note: For a listing to be included for any of the trigger, the Alert Client checkbox must be enabled within the listing's Load & Web section.
Trigger types
Each trigger type defines when and why an alert is sent to a contact:
Property Listed
- Triggered when a listing is marked as Listed
- If the listing matches the contact’s criteria, it appears in the Current Listings section of that day’s E-Alert
- This is the standard E-Alert trigger used for most contacts
Listing Sold
- Triggered when the Actual Unconditional Date or Actual Settlement Date is entered on a listing
- If the listing meets the contact’s criteria, it appears in the Sold Properties section of that day’s E-Alert
Note: The first E-Alert sent for a new set of matching criteria includes all matching listings — not just newly sold ones. To avoid sending older listings, untick Alert Client for any previously sold properties.
Auction Reminder
- Sent two days before an upcoming auction for any listing that matches the contact’s criteria
Inspection Reminder
- Sent two days before an open-for-inspection (OFI) event for any matching listing
