About media vendor integrations
Media vendor integrations allow advertising campaigns, media assets, images, and advertising copy to synchronise between Box+Dice and supported third-party platforms.
Successful synchronisation depends on both systems processing data in a compatible format. Certain settings and data formatting issues can affect how information is transferred between platforms.
XML formatting requirements
Media vendor integrations commonly rely on XML data to transfer information between systems.
If data contains unsupported characters or incorrectly formatted text, the receiving platform may reject or fail to process the information.
Advertising campaign synchronisation
Advertising Campaign Item synchronisation with Realhub allows campaign information to be transferred from Realhub or HQ back into Box+Dice.
This ensures campaign activity created and managed within the media platform can also be reflected within Box+Dice where supported.
Advertising copy synchronisation
Advertising copy synchronisation determines the default direction for advertising copy updates between Box+Dice and Realhub or RedHQ.
Available synchronisation models may include:
- Enter into Box+Dice and push to Realhub/HQ
- Enter into Realhub/HQ and pull into Box+Dice
This setting controls the default behaviour, although individual listings may support different synchronisation preferences.
Automatic image synchronisation
Automatic Image Sync allows listing images stored in Realhub or HQ to automatically replace images stored in Box+Dice.
This helps maintain consistency between platforms by ensuring the same image set is available across both systems.
Some agencies choose to temporarily disable Automatic Image Sync during implementation or migration periods until images have been verified in the source platform.
Once image data has been confirmed as complete and up to date, automatic synchronisation can be enabled again.
Image download considerations
Property addresses containing special characters may affect image downloads from media vendors.
For example, quotation marks within an address can cause formatting issues if they are not correctly processed by the receiving system.
An address such as:
- "Queens" Penthouse, 123 Test Street
may prevent images from downloading successfully if the quotation marks are not handled correctly during synchronisation.
In these situations, updating the address to remove problematic quotation marks and allowing the listing to synchronise again may resolve the issue.
