About bank account detail visibility

You can control who is allowed to view or edit bank account details on a contact by using access control settings. These permissions help protect sensitive financial information while still allowing authorised team members to perform their work.

Bank account access applies to:

  • The contact profile
  • Trust accounting screens

Configure bank account access

To configure bank account access:

  • Go to: Settings > General > Access
  • Click Contacts
  • Select Contact Details
  • Select Bank Account Details

You will see two permission options:

  • View - Allows users to see bank account details on the contact profile and trust accounting screens. Without this permission, bank account details are partially hidden
  • Edit - Allows users to add, update, or remove bank account details. Users must also have View access to edit details
  • Click the + button to add Roles and Groups

To keep financial data secure:

  • Grant Edit access only to users who manage trust or financial transactions
  • Limit View access for users who do not need bank account details
  • Review access permissions regularly, especially when roles change

What users see when access is restricted

When a user does not have permission to view bank account details:

  • Bank account fields still appear on the contact
  • The information is masked or half hidden
  • This indicates that details exist, but the user is not authorised to view them
