Understand how blast approval works

Summary

Learn how to manage blast approvals triggered by the contact limit, ensuring large email sends are reviewed before delivery.

This article covers:

How it works

When a blast is created for 1000 or more contacts or if you do not have the appropriate ACL, the system requires an approval step before you can send the blast. This protects your organisation from accidental large‑scale sends and ensures another authorised staff member reviews the blast before sending.

How approval works when requesting

When you create a blast and include 1000+ contacts, the system will automatically display an approve option.

You can complete your blast as usual, and once it reaches the contact limit, you’ll see the approval button.

  • Click Submit for Approval

  • Select the staff member you want to send the approval request to

  • Click Confirm

After confirming, the system sends an approval email to that staff member. This email contains a link that takes them directly to the pending approval area in the system.

How approval works for the selected staff member

The selected approver receives an email prompting them to review the blast.

When they click the link in the email, the system opens to Contacts > Email Blast > Reports > Pending, where the blast will be waiting for review.

From here, the approver can read through the blast content, confirm that everything looks correct, and approve it. Once approved, the blast will proceed according to its sending rules.
