How contact ranking works

Contact Ranking uses an algorithm that analyses your contact data and activity history to estimate the likelihood that a Contact may sell a property soon.

The algorithm looks at a combination of factors, including:

  • Whether the Contact owns a Property or has owned one previously
  • Whether the Contact has had an Appraisal
  • Recent inspection attendance
  • How recently you have interacted with the Contact
Note: No single action determines a Contact’s ranking. The list dynamically updates as Box+Dice learns more from your data and interactions.

The more complete and accurate your data is in Box+Dice, the better the ranking suggestions will be.

What can boost a contact’s ranking

Certain behaviours or updates can increase a Contact’s position in the ranking list.

Common examples include:

  • An Owner or Past Appraisal Contact starts attending inspections, which suggests renewed selling interest
  • A Buyer attends multiple open homes over time, gradually boosting their rank
  • A Buyer is later recorded as owning a Property, which results in a significant increase
Tip: Regularly updating ownership details, appraisals, and inspection attendance improves ranking accuracy.

About contact ranking icons

The Contact Ranking view includes icons that are not available in other Contact views.

Each icon represents a specific event or behaviour. These events contributed to the Contact’s overall score.

  • Hover over an icon to see what that event represents

Example:

These icons explain why a Contact has ranked highly.

In the example shown, Jun Wei is ranked highly because she:

  • Was registered as a buyer lead for a property
  • Was a past owner of two properties
  • Has had appraisals created for two additional properties

Snooze a contact in contact ranking

If you speak with a Contact and confirm they are not looking to sell anytime soon, you can temporarily de‑prioritise them.

To snooze a Contact:

  • Locate the Contact in Contact Ranking

  • Click Snooze

The contact will move down your contact ranking list for 30 days.

Tip: Contact Ranking works just like other Contact views. You can apply filters to narrow results and, if you have permission, view the list as another user.
