Summary
Learn how to reverse a transfer transaction by returning funds to the original ledger and updating the transaction description.
If you’ve transferred funds to the wrong ledger or need to correct a transaction, you can reverse it by transferring the funds back to the original ledger. This ensures your records remain accurate and up to date.
To reverse a transfer transaction:
- Go to: Accounting > Trust > Ledgers
- Select the Ledger
- Click Transfer Funds
In the New Transfer modal:
- Select the date of the reversal
- Enter a Description for the reversal (e.g., “Reversal of incorrect transfer to Ledger B”)
- Search for related Invoice (If applicable)
- Enter the Amount to be reversed
- Select your name from the Issued By dropdown
- Select the ledger where the funds currently reside
- Select the original ledger where the funds should be returned
- Tick Draw down from funds that are held until release to include unreleased funds (Optional)
- Click Transfer
After completing the reversal, you can view the updated transaction in the Trust Ledger.
