Summary
Learn how Box+Dice holds trust funds until the release date is reached, ensuring compliance with settlement and legislative requirements.
This article covers:
How it works
Box+Dice prevents trust funds from being released before the designated release date. This ensures funds remain protected and unavailable until:
- They are officially released, or
- They are flagged as payable prior to the release date
This supports legal compliance and prevents premature access to trust-held deposits.
Key functionality:
- Funds held in trust will not appear as available until released or flagged
- The system automatically enforces this hold based on the release date set in the listing
Exceptions
Some funds can be accessed before the release date under specific conditions.
Exceptions for prepaid advertising
To allow access to prepaid vendor-paid advertising:
During deposit receipting:
- Untick the checkbox labeled Hold Until Release
This will make those funds available for use immediately.
Exceptional circumstances
If you must pay from the trust account before funds become releasable. You can still do so, even if funds are held.
During the trust payment process:
- Tick the box Pay from deposit (funds held until release)
This overrides the default hold and allows payment from the held funds.
