How it works

Transferring trust money between ledgers allows you to move funds from one property to another within your trust account. This is essential for managing transactions across listings, especially when funds need to be reallocated due to changes in property status, refunds, or adjustments.

Each transfer is recorded with a unique reference number, date, and description, ensuring full traceability. You can initiate transfers either from the Accounting module or directly within a specific ledger.


Transfer trust money from the Accounting module

To transfer trust money:

  • Go to: Accounting > Trust > Transfers
  • Click + New Transfer

In the New Transfer modal:

  • Edit the transaction date
  • Enter a reason for the transfer (e.g., Solicitor PayoutAdvertising Refund)
  • Select the trust Account
  • Search and link an Invoice if applicable
  • Enter the Transfer Amount
  • Select the source ledger
  • Select the destination ledger
  • Tick the box for Draw down from funds that are held until release (Optional)

  • Click Transfer
Tip: Use this method for bulk or centralized fund movements.

Transfer trust money from within a ledger

To transfer trust money:

  • Go to:  Accounting > Ledgers or Sales > Listing > Accounting

  • Click into the Ledger
  • Click Transfer Funds

In the New Transfer modal:

  • Edit the transaction date
  • Enter a reason for the transfer (e.g., Solicitor PayoutAdvertising Refund)
  • Select the trust Account
  • Search and link an Invoice if applicable
  • Enter the Transfer Amount
  • Select the source ledger
  • Select the destination ledger
  • Tick the box for Draw down from funds that are held until release (Optional)

  • Click Transfer
Note: This method is ideal for quick, property-specific fund movements.

Once the transfer is completed, the transaction will appear in the Trust Ledger screen of the destination ledger. It will include:

  • The reference number and date of the transaction
  • A description (e.g., Transferred from [source ledger])
  • The credit amount reflecting the transferred funds
  • The updated balance, including any funds held until release

This ensures full visibility and traceability of trust money movements across ledgers.
