About CardDAV and CalDAV in Box+Dice
Box+Dice supports mobile contact and calendar syncing through CardDAV and CalDAV, which are third‑party proprietary applications.
Box+Dice can only confirm that the required configuration steps are completed within the platform.
Once these steps are correctly set up in Box+Dice and on the device, any remaining issues are typically related to the device or the CardDAV/CalDAV application itself, which is outside Box+Dice’s control.
Perform basic troubleshooting
Before troubleshooting the device, ensure Box+Dice is configured correctly.
- Check the contact has the 'mobile' category attached, for yourself
- Check your push/fetch notifications in your phone settings, and make sure they are not set to manual (or a time lapse that has not passed yet)
If syncing does not occur after setup, try the following steps.
To refresh the CardDAV connection:
- Delete the CardDAV account from your device
- Power the device off and then on
- Add the CardDAV account again
- Allow time for contacts to resync
About contacts imported from iPhone or iPad
Under certain conditions, contacts created on an iPhone or iPad may sync back into Box+Dice automatically.
If a CardDAV account is added to the device and all other contact groups are disabled, any new contacts created on the device will:
- Sync back to Box+Dice
- Be assigned the Mobile category automatically
To avoid unintended contact imports:
- Open Contacts on your device
- Tap Groups
Ensure at least:
- The phone’s local Contacts account, and
- The CardDAV account are both enabled
