Add a property video to a listing

Summary

Learn how to include property videos in your listings using links from video hosting platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo.

This article covers:

Overview

Property videos can be added to listings in Box+Dice by linking to a video hosted on an external video platform.

Common video hosting services include:

  • YouTube
  • Vimeo

Once the video URL is added to the listing, it will be included in the XML feed when the listing is uploaded to property portals.

How the video appears on the destination portal depends on the portal’s own requirements and supported formats.

Note: If you have questions about video formats or display behaviour, contact the relevant portal directly.

If your agency uses a GRAB website, property videos may also display automatically on the website once the URL is added.

Add a video link to a listing

You can add a property video by pasting the hosted video link into the listing information screen.

To add a video link:

  • Go to: Sales > Listings
  • Search and select the relevant listing
  • Click the pencil icon next to Sales Listing

  • Scroll to Load & Web
  • Locate the Video Link URL field
  • Paste the video URL provided by the video hosting platform

  • Click Save

Once saved, the video link will be included when the listing is uploaded to portals.

Tip: Ensure the video is publicly accessible on the hosting platform so portals can display it correctly.

How portals handle property videos

When a listing is uploaded, the video link is included in the portal XML feed.

Each portal decides how the video is displayed on their platform. Some portals may show the video in the image gallery, while others may display it as a separate link.

If a portal does not support a particular video format, the video may not appear or may only display as a link.

Portal-specific video requirements

Some portals require specific video URL formats.

Domain.com.au

Domain does not accept embedded Vimeo video links in the standard format.

The “s” in “https” must be removed and player. added for the link to work correctly.

Example Vimeo link:

https://vimeo.com/12345678

Required format:

http://player.vimeo.com/video/12345678

Realestate.com.au

If you upload a YouTube video, the portal may include it as part of the image carousel.

The recommended link format is:

https://youtu.be/XXXXXXXXXXX

If another format is used:

  • The video may appear as a clickable link under Floorplans & Interactive Tours
  • It will not appear in the realestate.com.au mobile app
Note: Youtube short links are not accepted within Grab sites.
