This article covers:

How it works

Copying an existing Library template is often the quickest way to create a new template, especially when the original includes complex formatting, tables, or structure.

Library templates can be copied in two locations:

  • From Settings
  • From the Library within Contacts or Properties

Both methods allow you to reuse existing layouts, but they differ in capability and limitations.

Copy a template from Settings

Copying from Settings is best for quickly duplicating templates of the same type.

To copy a template from Settings:

  • Go to: Settings
  • Select Library Templates
  • Click the Copy icon next to the template

  • Click Yes to confirm

  • Update the template name
  • Edit the template as required
  • Click Save
Important: This method cannot be used to copy a template to a different template type (for example, from a Letter to an Email).

Copy a template from the Library

Copying from the Library using source code allows more flexibility and is useful when recreating templates manually.

To copy a template from the Library:

  • Go to: Contacts or Properties
  • Select the contact or property
  • Click Library

  • Under Templates, select the template you want to copy
  • Click the pencil icon next to Templates

  • Click the HTML (Source Code) icon

  • Select and copy all source code

  • Close the source code window and cancel out of the template
  • Select the folder where the new template will be saved
  • Click the + icon under Templates

  • Enter the template name, type, and page size

  • Click Save
  • Click the HTML (Source Code) icon

  • Paste the copied source code

  • Click OK, then Save
Note: Template names should only use letters and numbers. You may also use -, _, and &.
Other special characters may cause the template to fail saving.
