Summary
Learn how to add a brochure or listing web book link to your automated SMS so buyers can instantly access digital property information after check-in.
This article covers:
How it works
As part of your automated buyer follow-up SMS, you can include a link to a digital brochure, listing web book, or online document related to that property. This helps buyers instantly access property details and marketing material after attending an open home.
The SMS template includes a merge field for one URL:
- [Listing URL] - usually the main listing page on your website
To send a link to a digital brochure or document, your website developer can configure a redirect so that when a suffix (e.g. /db) is added to the listing URL, it leads to the correct brochure page.
When the buyer opens a link ending in “/db”, it automatically redirects them to the digital brochure or hosted file.
Set up brochure redirects
Ask your website developer to:
- Decide on a URL suffix for brochure redirects, e.g., /db (short for “digital brochure”)
- Create a redirect rule so that when /db is added to the shortened listing URL, it automatically forwards users to the correct brochure or document page
For example, if your standard Listing URL is: https://www.yourwebsite.com.au/1234567
Add “/db” to the end to obtain the brochure redirect URL:
https://www.yourwebsite.com.au/1234567/db
This redirects a user to where the brochure (or other document/page) is hosted:
https://www.yourwebsite.com.au/digital-brochure/1234567
https://www.anotherwebsite.com.au/document/1234567/download
Add the brochure link to your SMS template
Once the redirect is ready, update your SMS template to include the brochure link.
To update your SMS template:
- Go to: Settings > Automations > Check-in SMS
- Edit your automated buyer check-in SMS message
- Insert the [Listing URL] merge field in your message
- After the merge field, add your brochure suffix (e.g. /db)
- Click Save
Once saved, the SMS will automatically include a unique brochure link for each property when sent.
