This article covers:

Send an SMS to multiple contacts

You can easily send an SMS to several contacts at once using the search results screen. This is ideal for updates, reminders, or quick notifications.

To send an SMS to multiple contacts:

  • Go to: Contacts
  • Use the search bar or filters to find the contacts you want to SMS
  • Tick Select all # records
  • Click the SMS icon

A list of contacts who either don’t have a mobile number or have opted out of SMS will appear in the SMS modal.

  • Select the sender from the dropdown menu if you want it to appear as someone other than the logged-in user

Available agents are determined by the Sharing settings on the staff screen.

Note: SMS messages must be 160 characters or fewer to count as one message. Messages exceeding 160 characters will use two SMS credits, even though they are received as a single message.
  • Enter your message in the SMS window
Note: Copying and pasting any content or text into the text box can add hidden formatting or extra characters. Right-click and choose the ''Paste as plain text'' option (Ctrl + Shift + V) and check the SMS preview before sending to ensure clean formatting.
  • Tick Send later to schedule the message for a future date and time (optional)
  • Tick Skip quiet hours (optional)
  • Click Send to deliver the message immediately or at the scheduled time
Important: When a user sends an SMS from Box+Dice, it is charged off the SMS credit for the Office they belong to, regardless of who they select as the sender.

Quiet hours restrictions

Box+Dice restricts SMS sending during quiet hours (9:00 PM to 8:00 AM). Messages sent or scheduled during this time are held until 8:00 AM, and you’ll receive a warning if you try to send them. This is a system-wide setting and cannot be changed for individual offices.

However, if you use the Send Later function, you can select ‘Skip Quiet Hours' to send the message immediately, even during restricted hours.

Note: This override applies only to SMS messages when using Send Later.
