Configure SMS Sender Name or Sender ID for Check-In SMS

MRI Box and Dice MRI Box and Dice

Summary

Learn how to configure how Check-in SMS messages are sent to buyers after they attend an inspection.

This setting only affects the Check-in SMS feature. It does not change how manually sent SMS messages are delivered from Box+Dice.

This article covers:

How it works

Box+Dice allows you to control how Check-in SMS messages appear to recipients.

From Settings > Automations > Check-in SMS, you can choose whether SMS messages are sent:

  • From the consultant's mobile number, or
  • From a single office-wide Sender Name.
Note: Only users with access to Settings > Automations can enable or modify SMS settings.

To set or update how SMS messages are sent:

  • Go to: Settings > Automations > Check-in SMS
  • Select your Office from the list
  • Enable Send SMS from sender name rather than number

  • Click Save

When ‘Send SMS from sender name rather than number’ is disabled, messages are sent using the consultant’s mobile number (Sender ID) by default, but when enabled, you can add a Sender Name (up to 11 characters) to appear as the message sender instead.

Use a consultant's mobile number (Default)

When "Send SMS from sender name rather than number" is disabled, the user can choose which consultant's mobile number the Check-in SMS is sent from:

  • Check-in Consultant – Sends the SMS from the consultant who checked the buyer in.
  • Listing Consultant 1 – Sends the SMS from the primary listing consultant.
  • Advertising Consultant 1 – Sends the SMS from the advertising consultant assigned to the listing.

Recipients will:

  • See the consultant's mobile number as the sender.
  • Be able to reply directly to the consultant.
  • Be able to call the consultant from the SMS.
Important: Every consultant who sends Check-in SMS messages must have a valid mobile number entered in their staff profile.

Use a sender name

Important: Due to Sender Name verification rules introduced by the regulator ACMA in July 2026, you will need to contact Support to get your Sender Name registered before this feature can be made available.

When Send SMS from sender name rather than number is enabled, all Check-in SMS messages are sent using the office Sender Name instead of the consultant's mobile number.

For example:

Parkdale

The Sender Name:

  • Can contain up to 11 characters.
  • Is configured once at the office level.
  • Is used for all Check-in SMS messages sent by that office.
  • Cannot receive replies or phone calls.
Note: When using a Sender Name, all SMS will be sent using the same name entered in the Sender Name field. It won’t show the individual consultant’s name who checked in the buyer, and recipients will not be able to reply/respond.

Important

The SMS sender configuration on this page only applies to Check-in SMS messages generated from inspections.

It does not affect other SMS messages sent from Box+Dice, such as manual SMS messages sent from contacts, listings, or other areas of the CRM.

For SMS messages sent by consultants, ensure each consultant has a valid mobile number configured in their staff profile to avoid unexpected sender behaviour.
